SERVICES > HAIR REMOVAL

Laser Hair Removal

Say goodbye to shaving, waxing and ingrown hairs. Laser hair removal is a safe, effective and long-lasting solution for reducing unwanted hair on the face and body.

Using advanced laser technology, this treatment targets hair follicles with precision to stop their ability to grow back while leaving the surrounding skin undamaged.

The advanced laser technology can treat light skin types, as well as darker skin types.

FAQs

Commonly asked questions about Laser Hair Removal.

  • Laser hair removal eliminates unwanted body hair by exposing it to pulses of laser light, destroying hairs at the follicles for long-lasting results. Over a series of treatments, the damaged follicles produce progressively finer and fewer hairs, eventually leading to significant hair reduction.

Although laser hair removal effectively delays hair growth for long periods, it usually doesn't result in permanent hair removal. Multiple laser hair removal treatments are needed for initial hair removal, and maintenance treatments might be needed as well. Laser hair removal is most effective for people who have light skin and dark hair, but it can be successfully used on all skin types. It will not treat blond hair or gray hair.

  • Avoid direct sun exposure in the area two weeks prior to treatment and if it can’t be avoided be sure that daily you wear an SPF 30 broad spectrum sunscreen.

Avoid skin lighteners and retinols for 1 week prior to your treatment.

  • We use a Candela Gentle Max Pro Laser which is considered the gold standard for hair removal in all Fitzpatrick types.

Treatment Plan

What to expect from Laser Hair Removal.

    • For about six weeks prior to treatment, you should avoid plucking, electrolysis or waxing.

    • On the day of your treatment, skin should be clean-shaven and thoroughly cleansed of any makeup, creams, oils, topical anesthetics or self-tanning products.

    • Apply sunblock (SPF 30 or above) before your treatment.

    • Do not expose the treatment area to sunlight or tanning booth light prior to or immediately after treatment.

    • If you have a history of herpes simplex virus, a prophylactic antiviral therapy may be prescribed.

    • Laser hair removal treatments are commonly described as similar to having an elastic band snapped against the skin during treatment. A topical anesthetic can be used before treatment if desired. We recommend you arrive 20 minutes prior to treatment in order to take full advantage of the topical numbing cream.

    • Some patients may feel slight discomfort, which has been compared to snapping a rubber band against the skin. This discomfort resolves quickly and is minimized by our patented Dynamic Cooling Device.

    • The duration of each session varies from person to person as well as the treatment area, but on average they last about 10-20 minutes.

    • Your practitioner will use a small handpiece to deliver an intensive burst of energy onto targeted areas of the skin.

    • A cool compress or gel pack may be applied.

    • If you do have any redness or swelling after treatment, this should resolve in a couple of hours.

    • You will be able to resume normal activities after each session, but you may be given specific advice, such as avoiding sun or abrasive skin cleansers on treated skin for a few days.

    • Your skin will be much more prone to sun damage, so be sure to use sunblock with SPF 30 or greater.

    • Don’t scrub or rinse the treated areas with abrasive skin cleansers for a few days post-treatment. Products containing tretinoin, retinol, benzoyl peroxide, glycolic/salicylic acids, astringents, etc.

    • Because hair grows in stages, multiple treatments are required. The number and timing of these treatments will be determined by your provider.

    • Consult with practice about when to resume your skin care regime.

SERVICES > SPIDER VEINS

Spider Veins

At Nura Integrative Health, we offer non-surgical spider vein treatments designed to safely and effectively reduce the appearance of red and small blue veins on the body and face.

All skin types can be treated with this laser with excellent results. Most vascular areas improve after 3-5 treatments, spaced 6-8 weeks apart.

FAQs

Commonly asked questions about Spider Vein treatment.

  • The Gentle Max Pro short pulses of light energy target and destroy problematic blood vessels, thereby eliminating the unwanted surface vein or vascular lesion.

Before and after each laser pulse, the Gentle Max Pro device delivers a liquid coolant onto the skin, protecting the surrounding tissue. This cooling system can be adjusted to your individual needs.

  • This technique sends very strong bursts of light through the skin onto the vein. This makes the vein slowly fade and disappear.

Not all skin types and colors can be safely treated with lasers. No needles or incisions are used, but the heat from the laser can be quite painful. Cooling with ice packs helps reduce the pain.

  • Laser treatments last for 15 to 20 minutes. Generally, 2 to 5 treatments are needed to remove spider veins in the legs at 6-8 weeks apart. Laser therapy usually isn’t effective for varicose veins larger than 3 mm (about a tenth of an inch).

If you have poor blood circulation feeding these tiny veins, the larger "feeder" vein must first be treated with surgery, endovenous laser or radiofrequency treatment, or sclerotherapy.

SERVICES > REDNESS REDUCTION

Redness & Pigment Reduction

Restore clarity and evenness to your skin with redness and pigment reduction treatments. These non-invasive procedures are designed to target unwanted redness, brown spots, sun damage and uneven skin tone—revealing a brighter, more balanced complexion.

Using advanced technologies such as IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) or laser therapy, these treatments work by gently breaking down excess melanin or visible blood vessels beneath the skin’s surface.

Multiple treatments are necessary about 4-6 weeks apart. And then a maintenance treatment is recommended once-twice a year.

FAQs

Commonly asked questions about Redness Reduction treatments.

  • This laser treatment treats issues such as overall redness and skin lesions (also known as brown or sun spots), delivering high intensity pulses of broadband light that is non-ablative, meaning that it does not damage the surface of the skin.

The intense light is delivered to the deeper parts of the skin (dermis) and leaves the superficial aspect of the skin (epidermis) untouched.

  • During treatment, a pulse of light similar to a rubber band snap is emitted from the handpiece. Generally, no local anesthetic is required as most individuals tolerate the treatment well.

For your comfort we offer topical numbing cream in the office that would need to be applied 15-20 minutes prior to treatment.

  • Patients should undergo a series of 3-4 laser treatments. Treatments are administered every 3-4 weeks. Each treatment session takes approximately 20 to 30 minutes, depending on treated areas.

The number of treatments you need will vary depending on the condition you're being treated, the results you want, and how your skin responds.

SERVICES > SKIN TIGHTENING

Skin Tightening

Restore firmness and redefine your natural contours with non-surgical skin tightening treatments.

These advanced procedures use radiofrequency technology to stimulate collagen and elastin production deep within the skin—resulting in a smoother, tighter, and more youthful appearance over time.

Multiple treatments are needed before noticing results and maintenance is recommended.

FAQs

Commonly asked questions about Skin Tightening.

  • Lift years off your face without surgery! Skin tightening stimulates collagen production and produces a firming effect in lax skin by contracting collagen fibers and connections. This treatment can be seen as a workout for your skin to keep it fit and toned.

Fine wrinkles are reduced, noticeable lifting can be observed, and the texture of your skin becomes smoother, tighter and more luminous without any downtime.

  • A laser treatment that heats specific areas of the skin to stimulate collagen production in the deeper layers of the skin. Patients will usually schedule between three to five treatments, depending on the severity of the wrinkles and the state of their skin.

Multiple treatments are scheduled three or four weeks apart so that there is enough time to heal in between treatments.

Most patients will also continue with follow-up treatments every six months for optimal results.

  • The number of treatments vary with an average of 4-6 treatments at one month intervals. Results usually appear after 2-3 treatments. Maintenance is recommended in keeping the skin firm.

If you find that the treatment is uncomfortable for you, there are available options like topical numbing cream to make this treatment more comfortable for you.

  • Radiofrequency (RF) skin tightening is a non-invasive treatment that uses RF energy to heat the deeper layers of your skin, stimulating collagen and elastin production. This process helps to firm, tighten, and lift the skin over time—without surgery or significant downtime.

The gentle heat causes existing collagen fibers to contract while triggering your body to produce new collagen, resulting in smoother, more youthful-looking skin.
